About Me

First, you should know that I feel passionate about my work. It is truly an honor to help others find the path that is healing, calming, more fulfilling or simply makes their lives feel better. I look forward to sharing this space with you as you dedicate focused time for change.

Now for the more dry but important details! I work diligently with adults on a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, academic or professional struggles, relationship or marital conflict and family of origin issues. This dedication has fueled me for 25 years to help clients in many settings - schools, hospitals, community mental health clinics and now in private practice. I work hard connecting with clients, wherever they are in their mental health journey and developing a relationship based on trust and mutual respect.

Over the past five years, I have become a yoga devotee and now often incorporate poses into sessions and/or suggest a home practice. This practice and my own need for healing led to an in-depth training in Subtle Yoga, a resilience based approach that focuses on slow movements to improve communication between brain and body. This interoception has been shown to reduce symptoms of both physical and mental health issues. I currently lead a 6 week series in the fall and winter to build resilience and improve mental health – check this out at the Sage Yoga page.

Of course yoga isn’t for everyone, so don’t worry I won’t go overboard with eastern sayings or poses. We might simply talk and figure out what will be most helpful for you or maybe we will interweave some yoga and breathing practices into the time we spend together. Either way, I will consider myself lucky to be given the opportunity to go on this journey with you. I appreciate you trusting me to help you in this difficult yet pivotal time in your life. Things can get better and you deserve for that change and healing to finally happen!

Meet Mia! She is my 10lb Cavapoo (Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and Poodle mix) who is very sweet and calm, hypoallergenic, well trained and, most importantly, loves to snuggle! Cavaliers were bred to warm the laps of the aristocracy in their cold castles - and Mia takes that job very seriously! Please know that she is a fixture in the office and if you don’t like dogs or have significant fears, my practice probably won’t be a fit. Of course, she is happy to sleep in my lap or in her bed if you would prefer it. Please ask me any questions or communicate your concerns before the intake appointment so our work together can go as smoothly as possible.
